North Hall Red Cabbage Salad

  • 1/2 head red cabbage
  • 1/2 cup oil
  • 1/2 cup plus 2 tblsps. red wine vinegar
  • 3 tblsps. sugar
  • 4 tsps. salt
  • 1 tsp. seasoned salt
  • 1/4 tsp. black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp. oinion powder


  1. Into a large bowl, shred cabbage so it is irregular with some fine and some coarse shreds.  Add oil, vinegar, sugar, salt, seasoned salt, pepper and onion powder.  Mix well.
  2. Let stand several hours or over night to allow flavors to mellow, and slowly to achieve its deep red color.
